Goal IV. Tactics
4.1a Drive FSU’s reputation as a leader in Academic Innovation through enhanced external communications and strategic community and industry partnerships that highlight FSU’s work in innovative education and research.
4.1b Establish formal mechanisms for sharing information, such as an Innovation Ambassadors Committee with representatives from each college to assist with the sharing and tracking of innovative resources, methods, and opportunities, as well as a formal process for establishing new projects or programs.
4.1c Establish a formal process that involves faculty, staff, and students in the development and evaluation of emerging technologies and methodologies.
4.2a Invest in an expanded interdisciplinary innovation center that provides an integrated, shared space available to all faculty, staff, and students on campus.
4.2b Create additional informal, structured opportunities for faculty and staff to communicate and exchange innovate ideas with their colleagues across campus.
4.2c Establish a reward structure that incentivizes faculty, staff, and students to experiment with new ideas and embrace innovation in higher education.
4.3a Increase faculty resources in the Research Computing Center to include additional training and dedicated onboarding and support personnel.
4.3b Increase the number of HPC specialists dedicated to analyzing and integrating emerging technologies to support academic research and future scope emerging technologies through quarterly HPC horizon scans.
4.3c Develop an accountability framework to require annual assessments of computing resources, ensuring that models remain up to date and aligned with evolving research needs.
4.4a Increase the utilization of institutional data in administrative decisions across the university.
4.4b Increase the number of Institutional Research staff to maximize the Office's ability to support a data-engaged campus.
4.5a Invest in resources to support advances in technology-assisted research and education. Ensure that these advances are communicated to external stakeholders and marketed.
4.5b Create a central repository for State Health Data that is managed by FSU with state funding that invites university faculty from all over the state to collaborate and engage in behavioral health research and policy development.
4.5c Amplify efforts to innovate new educational and workforce development trainings to support a growing aerospace and advanced manufacturing workforce in Northwest Florida.
