Accreditation and Quality Assurance (AQuA)

The Accreditation and Quality Assurance (AQuA) office at Florida State University is housed within the Office of the Provost. AQuA plays a central role in upholding the institution’s commitment to academic and operational excellence, research innovation, student success, and entrepreneurial leadership.

AQuA ensures compliance with institutional and programmatic accreditation standards through a framework grounded in transparency and accountability. The office works collaboratively with academic and administrative units across campus to embed quality assurance into academic planning and promote a culture of excellence through review.

Specific areas of responsibility include:

  • Leadership for institutional accreditation activities
  • Advice for departments seeking disciplinary accreditation
  • Coordination of academic policy development on behalf of the Provost
  • Review of articulation and other academic agreements
  • Implementation of select state and federal policies
  • Oversight of the university’s Quality Enhancement Plan

Through these efforts, AQuA fosters an environment of institutional integrity and accountability, ensuring that Florida State University provides a strong return on investment for our students, internal and external stakeholders, and the citizens of Florida.
